Community Growing Day - suitable for all ages. Come and have a go at planting seeds, looking after the vegetables, learning about nature on the farm and maybe get a cuddle with a sheep! All while picking up helpful growing and conservation tips from our farm manager who will be leading the day. Bring a packed lunch, bottle of water, sun protection and comfy footwear!

Smallholders One Day Course (for beginners) Suitable for ages 16+. Whether you have been dreaming about having a smallholding for years or have just started but not sure what to do first, this is the perfect day course for you, that comes with lots of yummy treats! This day will leave you feeling confident and inspired to get going and growing with your own smallholding project.

This is an exceptionally well put together course, developed and run by our farm manager who has been designing and leading training sessions, community and education development projects, volunteering development, growing, conservation and smallholder management for fifteen years. Drawing on the farms own unique journey, and listening to what people would find most useful, this day is packed with vital knowledge that will help you make your own smallholding journey a success.

Forage walk with coffee and cake   £15pp  (Booking essential) 

Over 18s only (FULLY BOOKED)

Most of our events are aimed at the whole family, but this one is just for the grown ups! Come and join us for a refreshing walk around the farm, while learning about and picking your own wild herbs and flowers with our farm manager, Shona. Breathe in the fresh and air beautiful scent of  nature, relax in all the glories and wonders that nature in summer provides while learn about the benefits of the herbs and what you can do with them over fresh filter coffee and homemade cake. A perfect relaxing morning.

Friday 16 August: 11am - 1pm

Wild Herb and Flower Forage Walk with refreshments.

£20 per person. (Booking essential, limited places)

Bring a basket along to our relaxing morning of learning about the culinary and medicinal qualities of some of our common and not so common wild plants! Including a sensory game and colour therapy come and relax, inhale the fresh Tud Valley air and have some time out for yourself. 

Saturday 17 August: 10.30 - 1.30pm

Smudge Stick making course with refreshments.

£30 per person (Booking essential, limited places)

Join us to learn about the traditional craft of smudge stick making, how ours and other cultures use these fantastic herbs, and have a go at making your own to take home! It will be a relaxing and fun morning, giving you the chance to have some time for yourself, reconnecting with nature and your inner sage, while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of our off grid farm.

*Booking is essential as places as limited. Payment to be made at the start of each event, please note we do not have a card machine. 

*To make a booking please email info@longwater.org.uk and put EVENT BOOKING in the subject line. Let us know which event you would like to book, for how many people, ages (if under 18 and a family event) and contact email and phone number. We will contact you to confirm your booking and provide events details. 

*All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, unless for a specifically arranged children's event, in which case, relevant permissions and emergency contact details will have been collected.

*All events maybe subject to photography to help us continue to gain support, for our marketing leaflets and website, and for future grant applications. If you are not comfortable for yourself or members of your family to be in our photography, please let us know so we can be aware. Although we think you'll look fab!

Community Growing Day  "SPOOKY SPECTACULAR!" - suitable for all ages. Let's take a look at the spooky parts of nature this Halloween weekend by getting out the bat detectors, identifying the owl hoots and following the fungi trail! Bring a snack, bottle of water, comfy footwear and weather appropriate clothing, as it can be chilly in late October!
