Booking onto our courses and events

Booking your place (courses and events)

To take part in any of our course you must book your place in advance. We recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment and that you read ALL the information before booking (full information, terms and conditions are set out below the booking form). We have a limited number of spaces per course in order that the course leader can give each of you more time and attention to what you want to get out of the day. If you have any questions about the course or the farm beforehand, please email us on info@longwater.org.uk.

To book your place please complete all sections of the booking form. We will email you with two working days with and invoice that you will need to pay within the following five working days. Please see our cancellation policy below which, by booking onto the course, you are agreeing to.

Payment (Courses)

Each course will have the cost included in the course description, and will cover what the cost includes. Once you have booked your place and received your invoice from us, you will be able to pay either by bank transfer or by cheque payable to Longwater Community Farm Ltd. sent to the address that will be provided in your invoice email. Once payment has been confirmed you will receive an e-receipt, directions to get to the farm and all additional information.

Payment (Events)

Once you have booked onto the event, we will send you a confirmation email and you can pay in cash on they day. Easy peasy!

Cancellation Policy

By booking onto one of our courses and paying for your place, you are agreeing to our cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your booking with us and do so with 28 or more days notice of the course date, you will receive a full refund of the course cost. If you wish to cancel between 28 and 14 days of the course date you will be refunded 50% of the course cost, and if you cancel your booking with less that 14 days before the course date you will not be able to receive a refund.

Longwater Community Farm Ltd. reserves the right to cancel a course up to 24 hours before a planned course date in the event of unusually bad weather which would compromise the health and safety of participants, in the case of staff illness or a farm emergency such as unexpected animal illness/injury. If such an occurrence takes place, you will be offered at alternative date in the first instance, or a full refund if an alternative date cannot be found.

Photography

We want you to enjoy a memorable time on our farm, and as such we are happy for you to take photos with our animals. However, we ask that you respect the privacy of our neighbours and to not photograph the neighbouring holdings.

We will occasionally take photos during our events and courses to use for our future funding bids and marketing. If you do NOT wish to be photographed you must mention this on the booking form extra information box.

Access

Access to Longwater Community Farm is found about a quarter of a mile down a single track private track. This track must be driven down in first gear at a maximum of 5 mph. Please note that Longwater Community Farm Ltd does cannot take responsibility for any damage incurred by your vehicle while using this track or while parked on the farm.

Longwater Farm is the last smallholding on the left down the track, and the visitor entrance is the second gate which is well sign posted. Upon entering the farm, please follow the signs around to the right where you will find car parking bays. Please keep your windows closed while you are on the farm and check your cars thoroughly for curious farm cats that may have stowed away. If you find that you have left the farm and a cat has hidden itself away in your car, DO NOT let it out of the car as that will almost certainly result in the cat becoming lost and may cause death, please return the cat ASAP to the farm.

Travel and accommodation

We are based on The Loke, Longwater Lane, Costessey, Norwich, Norfolk and will send you specific directions once your booking has been confirmed. Please let us know on the booking form if you need additional help with getting here.

If you are coming from further away and prefer to stay the night before and/or after your time on the farm, there are several bed and breakfasts in the Costessey and south/west Norwich area, which is the area we would recommend for ease of getting to the farm from the right side of Norwich city. Air B&B is recommended, but if you have any difficulty, please let us know. Unfortunately we cannot offer overnight stays on the farm.

Animals

Unfortunately, we cannot have dogs on the farm and we require that all car windows be kept closed while on the farm so none of our farm cats sneak away with you at the end of your time with us. Please check your car thoroughly before leaving the farm for cats. If, in the unlikely event of finding a farm cat in your car, do NOT let it out if you have already left the farm, please return to the farm to bring it back home.

Most of our animals live within protective electric fencing which is well marked so please do not attempt to touch or cross the fences unless accompanied by a member of staff. Please do not feed the animals unless attended by a member of staff. In addition to the farm animals that live here, this land is home to a huge number of wild animals, birds, insects, trees and plants, and each one is valued and respected as much as any other. Please respect all living beings when visiting the farm.

Data protection

By booking onto one of our courses, classes, workshops or ordering veg boxes you are providing us with some of your confidential information. Food for an event/course

If your time on the farm is going to include refreshments in any way, you can be assured that all of our food and drink has been sourced locally, is fresh and healthy and has been ethically produced. Where possible, fresh ingredients will have been used from the farm. All meals will be either vegetarian or vegan; no meat is served on the farm as part of our ethos on healthy, ethical and sustainable futures. Please make sure that you tell us any dietary requirements in the information box on the booking forms or you can email us at a later date once you have booked your place.
